Join Make Conscious founder and international yoga teacher trainer Jessica Kung for a two-hour Earth Listening Yoga workshop that returns to the original intent of asana: to prepare the body for deep connection with the earth. In our fast-paced world, we often practice yoga indoors, disconnected from the living ground beneath us. This session invites you to slow down, listen, and remember—not only for your own healing, but as an act of service to the land of Altadena itself, in service of Restoring Altadena's Earth Wisdom.
We'll begin with a brief grounding talk on the roots of asana as earth connection. From there, you'll be guided through a slow, intentional sequence designed to awaken the feet, anchor the legs, and open the body downward in receptive awareness. Central to this practice are the energy centers in the soles of the feet. These vortexes act as your body's primary connection to the Earth's energy grids, facilitating the discharge of excess energy and the intake of stabilizing earth energy. Through specific pranayama techniques and yoga postures, you'll activate and balance these centers—opening a clear channel between your physical body, the Muladhara (Root) Chakra, and the Earth Star Chakra beneath your feet.
Once this channel is open, we will directly apply it to land listening and earth divination. With your feet as living antennas, you'll learn to sense what the land of Altadena is holding—its wounds, its wisdom, and its emerging story. Through guided stillness and subtle breathwork, you'll practice receiving impressions, shifts in energy, and intuitive messages from the earth beneath you. This is a practical, embodied divination practice that turns your own body into a tuning fork for the land.
You'll leave not only more rooted and stable, but equipped with a direct method to listen to and help restore Altadena's earth wisdom—one breath, one step, one grounded presence at a time.
Expect a meditative pace, hands‑on alignment cues, and time for quiet reflection. No previous experience required—only a willingness to listen with your whole body.
