Landscape is an inner and outer topography that weaves between the path of your life and the road you live on. We listen for the whole story of the land, seeking to understand how we build today exists as a function of past and future generations. We honor the ancestors, the genius loci (spirit of the land), and offer our creative genius in service and devotion to the land.

  • TOPICS:
    • Connect to the Spirit of Place (Genius Loci) through meditation and drawing
    • Create a series of phenomenological maps that archive your experience of site
    • Learn to identify and differentiate the causes for the “felt sense” of space and place.
    • Learn the Historical and Theoretical context for Land Healing in both Eastern and Western traditions.
    • Understand the difference between land healing and home clearing.
    • Learn the basics of reading land remotely.
    • Work with partners to practice reading each other’s land.

    LECTURES:
    Week 1-2: Connecting to the Spirit of the Land

    Week 5: Putting it all together into a Phenomenal Landscape Set

  • Onsite:

    • Experience and participate in a land healing!

    • Verify phenomena identified remotely with onsite as-built conditions.

    •Learn to see the land through en plein air studies and meditation

  • May 10 2-5pm with Jessica and Marisa

    • Receive a Basic Activation to start to transform phenomena and heal land.

    • Learn to use essential land healing tools such as the dowsing rod, pendulum.

    • Learn the basics of reading the energy of the land and home

    • Receiving tools and medicine to work with land healing

    • Building a Land Mandala/Altar and Making offerings

    • Archaeoastronomy is the interdisciplinary[1] or multidisciplinary[2] study of how people in the past “have understood the phenomena in the sky, how they used these phenomena and what role the sky played in their cultures”

    •Landscape archaeology is the study of the ways in which people in the past constructed and used the environment around them.

    Integration of Geomantic techniques with contemporary art and architectural approaches

    • to increase the accessibility, poetry, creativity, cross-disciplinarity, and scope of the work.

    • Reframing the client intake process and creating multiple bridges to current practices, conversations, and archival forms in landscape architecture, architecture, urban planning, and branding/identity systems.
